Metrea Simulations is looking for a Senior Environment Artist to come join our teams in creating art content for the ultimate in high fidelity combat simulation. We strive to push the boundaries of what's possible in simulation and you will work closely together with our artists, programmers and domain experts (e.g. fighter pilots) in doing so.
Responsibilities include:
Working with environment related content, such as terrain, vegetation, trees and objects.
Collaborate with programmers and machine learning experts to generate a procedural world.
Be involved in the entire process from reference photos to the final look of the environment.
Create photorealistic textures, meshes and materials based off real world data and references.
Analyze and improve visual quality and performance of environment assets.
Explore and develop workflows, techniques and best practises.

Skills and Requirements:
3 or more years of experience in environment art production.
Experience in Unreal Engine.
Expertise in softwares related to game art creation.
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of real time art.
Passion for pushing the state of the art in terms of fidelity.
A high sense of self-motivation and initiative.
Be proactive and work without direct supervision.
US or EU citizenship
Must be located in Sweden, Poland, UK or USA. (atm we don't offer relocation)

Avid & passionate gamer
A love for military themed games and simulations
Experience with procedural world and asset generation methods
Experience from the video game industry
Experience working with international teams
Additional language skills (e.g. Swedish, Polish, German)

TL;DR

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creating high quality high poly and low poly 3D assets for a variety of projects.
Working closely with the creative director and producer.
Managing and developing the 3D art team.
Providing updates and reviews on 3D art team's progress.
Making sure all the assets are up to studio quality and delivered on time.
When necessary, finding the right solutions to meet set objectives.
Oversee the correction of the team's bugs.
